Xiaomi Products Prices Increased!
Recently we heard that Realme announced it was increasing the prices of two of its products namely Realme 2 and Realme C1. After hiking the price of the both the devices by INR 500 and INR 1000 respectively the price started giving price competition in mid range segment.The company said that the price was adjusted just because of decrease in indian rupee value against dollar and added the realme devices margin is so close to the selling price. These are two reasons may be effected in Xiaomi side also.
Because Xiaomi also followed the same route by announcing a price hike of few of its products.The price hiking didn’t gave big surprise to us because Xiaomi was popular in price hike of its prominent player i.e, Redmi Note 5 Pro. Xiaomi Officially announced about the price hiking in the social media accounts and it was confirmed by the managing director of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain. He explained that the reason for the price increase is due to the Indian Rupee’s depreciation against the US Dollar by 15% since the beginning of the year. Below is a list of the affected products and their new prices:
The strength of Xiaomi is Mid range smartphones in Indian market. Now the price increase affects it two major smartphones namely Redmi 6A and Redmi 6.
The recently launched Redmi 6A is currently available at Rs 5,999 and Rs 6,999 for the 2GB + 16GB variant and 2GB + 32GB variant respectively. The price is increased by Rs 600 and Rs 500 on both the models respectively and will now be sold for INR 6,599 ($91) and INR 7,499 ($104).
The Redmi 6 with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage will also get a INR 500 price increase and will be sold for INR 8,499 ($117).
Mi Power Bank 2i (10000mAh Black)
The ‘Made in India’ power banks, the 10000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i in Black color will be sold at a slightly higher of Rs 899 instead of Rs 799. INR 100 is increased for this low price powervank which is on the hands of many mi customers.
Mi LED TV’s
Xiaomi also two MI TVs prices without exception. Rs 1000 is increased for the 32-inch Mi LED TV 4C Pro will be costing Rs 15,999 ($220) starting today midnight. Xiaomi has added Rs 2,000 to the 49-inch 4A Pro will go for INR 31,999 ($441).
Xiaomi entered into the Indian smart TV market this year and some hope in budget TVs. However, the increase in the price of the TVs may slow down its growth.
Xiaomi said the new price for the above products will take effect at midnight, 11th of November, 2018.Already now the two companies had hiked the product prices and let’s see if the price hike affects the market so that many companies decision is dependent.
