The Huawei Honor has officially unveiled the most expected Honor Note 10 handset today in China.The new Honor Note 10 is the successor to the Honor Note 8 launched in 2016.But in 2017 it skipped the launch of new note series. Many of the rumored specs was spread around but the company managed to surprise us with some new and unexpected features. Honor Note 10 comes with top-notch internals and premium looking design.It is the only smartphone from Honor Note series have 18:9 display with wide screen.
Honor Note 10 Price and Availability
When it comes to pricing, the Honor Note 10 comes in three variants – the 6GB/64GB model goes for CNY 2,799 ($409), the 6GB/128GB model costs CNY 3,199 ($468) while the most powerful variant with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage is priced at CNY 3,599 ($527).
The Note 10 is available in Midnight Black and Phantom Blue colors and it’s already on for pre-order in China. The phone will go on sale via Huawei’s Vmall, Jd.com, Suning.com, and Tmall. The actual shipments will begin on August 1.
Honor Note 10 Specifications
It comes with a 6.95-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ (2220 x 1080 pixels) resolution and 18.5:9 aspect ratio. The display is an AMOLED panel with 600 nits brightness and 70,000:1 contrast ratio. The display panel notably doesn’t have the notch design. Display supports the HDR10 standard and has 115% NTSC color gamut coverage. The company claims that the phone uses AI to intelligently fill pixels on the screen that makes it look more vibrant. It also features a split display mode.
The Note 10 is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 970 octa-core processor coupled with Mali-G72 MP12 GPU and a dedicated NPU. Just like the Honor Play, Honor Note 10 also comes with GPU Turbo out of the box. The handset supports the GPU Turbo tech but it also introduces a new CPU Turbo feature as well. Both software enhancements work together to form the Double Turbo mode, which can be launched with a press of the dedicated hardware button on the bottom. The key allows users to clean up background processes to allow CPU performance to reach its peak capacity. The Turbo mode allows the Honor Note 10 to run the highest graphics game without any lag.
The chipset uses a liquid cooling solution that the maker calls “the nine” as it consists of 8 layers of dissipation and a ninth one that’s basically a ‘PC-grade liquid-cooled pipe promising 41% better heat management, which in turn means 10 °C lower temperatures under load’.
RAM & Storage
The Honor Note 10 comes with 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The internal storage variants of the 6GB model are 64GB or 128GB, while the 8GB version comes with 128GB exclusively. MicroSD cards are also supported.But it is hybrid slot so you can add two sims together or an SD card and sim.
The Honor Note 10 packs a 24MP (f/1.8) main camera on the back aided by a 16MP (f/1.8) secondary shooter lens. its front-facing shooter is 13MP with f/2.0 aperture. The usual AI software for scene recognition and other AI features are at hand.It comes with AIS (Artificial Image Stabilisation) and an LED flash module. The rear camera also supports eight scenes, including indoor and outdoor blue sky, green plants, and night scene among others.The handset has a 13-megapixel sensor at the front along with AI modes and a Face Unlock feature.
Battery and OS
It is powered by a massive 5,000 mAh battery. For charging the huge 5000mAh battery it supports a 5V 4.5A (22.5W) super fast charging. The phone comes with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with EMUI 8.2 on top.
The Honor Note 10 features symmetric stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support. The smartphone includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C. The handset doesn’t have the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack and sports only a USB Type-C port. It comes with a USB Type-C to 3.5mm headphone jack adapter to support regular headphones.
